Tortuga is a pirates paradise, a safe haven for the Scallys of the Sea. In that spirit we crafted a sour pineapple ale fermented in rum barrels. We started by grilling and smoking the fresh pineapple bound for the boil kettle. We fed the yeast additional fresh pineapple in the secondary and allowed it to age. Golden straw in color with aromas of citrus and sour green apple. Flavors of tart pineapple and white grapefruit are finished clean crisp and dry. An ale fit for paradise.
